This position is open until filled.    The San Diego State University Pre-College Institute (PCI) promotes college access and completion for under-served students through excellence and innovation in education. Pre-College Institute comprises 24 staff members which include management and support personnel.   The SDSU Pre-College Institute is seeking a teacher for a Community Health course for our high school students during our six-week virtual online Summer Academy. The course will focus on topics such as obesity, mental health and the Opioid epidemic. The Institute’s goal is to assist low-income and/or first-generation college students currently in high school to prepare for success in college.   The six-week virtual online Summer Academy provides participants with fast-paced, intensive academic coursework and other cultural enrichment activities. A hybrid program of study may be approved to include face-to-face Saturday Sessions to promote team building, and a possible one-week Residential Program on campus.

This position is open until filled.    The San Diego State University Pre-College Institute (PCI) promotes college access and completion for under-served students through excellence and innovation in education.  Pre-College Institute comprises 24 staff members which include management and support personnel.    Under the direct supervision of the Director of the Summer Residential Programs, the Work-Study Internship Coordinator is responsible for managing the total recruitment process for the Upward Bound/HCOP Academy; for the development of a STEM work-study research internship and pre-internship initiative for low-income and/or potential first-generation college-bound high school students.   The Upward Bound/HCOP work-study Internship Coordinator uses independent analysis and judgment to develop, coordinate, and supervise complex and varied administrative tasks to provide exemplary work-study opportunities for high school students in collaboration with the campus community. The position encompasses three major areas of responsibility: Internship development and coordination, employer relations, and student/academic department relations.
