  • Overview

    This Statement of Work covers the need for student services, to provide software development and analytical support in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science for TrueView. The purpose of this project is to develop TrueView physically-based synthetic scene generation software.

     

    The Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC) Pacific is currently developing True-View (TVW) to generate and simulate maritime scenarios for tactical, operations, and strategic planning.

    Responsibilities

    The student shall assist the work sponsor in:

    • Physics and Mathematics
    • Software development for atmospheric and thermal transfer physics implementation
    • Analyzing data sets for verification and validation purposes against synthetic TVW data

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Undergraduate Student 2: Must have course work in the discipline requested on the task order Statement of Work. The student must be at the Junior or Senior level and have experience in 50% of the task requirements and be able to accomplish 50% of the work independently.

    Undergraduate Level 2: Majoring in any of the following disciplines Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (Junior or Senior)


    Required Course Work:

     

    • Linear Algebra
    • Multivariable Calculus, Mechanics, and Waves
    • Electro-Magnetism
    • Computer Programming
    • Statistics
    • Must have experience in atmospheric propagation, meteorological data analysis, and meteorological data collection instruments.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Experience in computer languages (Python, Matlab and Linux Operating Environment)
    • Course Work in Numerical methods for physics/science/engineering, Computational modeling, and Scientific visualization

     

     

    This position will require the employee to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

    Due to the regulations established by the Department of Defense, only US Citizens may qualify
    This is a student position and is limited to working 20 hours per week
