  • Overview

    This Statement of Work covers the need for student services, to provide analytical and technical support in the field of Computer Science. The students will provide support to the Integrated Product Team (IPT) Support Team and Project Portal at the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific. The purpose of this project is to support in the development of software testing, and sustainment of application interphase and underlying business processes in for Project Portal.

     

    The Project Portal is an AngularJS web-based application that has multiple modules and/or applications within it. These applications include Knowledge Management (KM), Configuration Management (CM), System Architecture, and Risk Management.

    Responsibilities

     

    Execution of a variety of “Programmatic Support” activities.
    These activities shall include: 

    • Designing, developing, testing, reviewing, and analyzing large scale database structures, and data correlation and conversion techniques. 
    • Establish and maintain a system of continuous process (data analysis and data reduction) and quality improvement. 
    • Support a variety of data collection/analysis/reporting activities. 

     

    Project Portal Program Management 

    • Designing, developing, testing and documenting computer modeling and/or architecture within the Corporate Database and Project Portal. 
    • Document requirement and design decisions for the Project Portal.

    Project Portal Lifecycle Design Interface 

    • Coordinate and work cooperatively with both the Government and other contractors to insure a seamless flow of information and task integrating software applications. 
    • Ensure appropriate data synchronization across interfacing 
    • applications/databases. 
    • Writing, testing and documenting code. Performing programming 
    • functions. 
    • Developing web applications and tools. Creating or upgrading websites and/or web pages and graphics. 

     Project Portal Business Applications 

    • Provide technical support for Team NAVWAR and NIWC Pacific 
    • business applications including maintenance, security sustainment and user support. 
    • Provide technical support to network technicians to consolidate the 
    • number of required servers in an effort to reduce the total cost of hosting Business Applications. 

    Project Portal Technical Documentation 

    • Develop, maintain, revise, edit and publish technical and non-technical 
    • documents in paper and digital formats. 
    • Support all aspects of integrating and developing technical documentation 
    • to include assisting in identifying requirements, production, distribution, and disposal. 
    • Document requirements, write and/or review specifications, support 
    • portfolio management and IT-architecture-related activities. 

    Qualifications

    Undergraduate Student 2: Must have course work in the discipline requested on the task order Statement of Work. The student must be at the Junior or Senior level and have experience in 50% of the task requirements and be able to accomplish 50% of the work independently.

    Minimum Qualifications: 

    Undergraduate Level 1: Majoring in Computer Science (freshman or sophomore).
    Required Course Work: 

    • Data Structures b. Software Engineering c. Database Theory and Implementation d. Database Techniques 

    Preferred Qualifications: 

    • Experience with the following: 
    • Arrays, linked lists, stacks, queues, recursion, binary search trees, balanced trees, hash tables, dynamic storage management, and/or introduction to graphs. 
    • Analysis, design, and implementation of programs. 
    • Database systems architecture; storage structures; and access techniques relational model; normalization of relations; and hierarchical and network models. 
    • Fundamental data models for handling scientific data, including flat file, indexed compressed files, relational databases, and object oriented databases, and their associated query technologies.
    • GPA of 3.3 or higher is desired. 

     

    This position will require the employee to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
