    This Statement of Work requires the services of undergraduate college students to provide technical and/or analytical support in the field of Computer Science for the User Interface Rapid Prototyping (UIPT). The purpose of this project is to develop a software capability for rapid prototyping of user interfaces. This software development effort will utilize JavaScript with the ReactJS API and other software programs required to complete a representative design. The design and implementation will be componentized and worked into applications allowing both the user interface expert and customer to work together in the design and formulation of advanced user interfaces specifically designed to meet the customer’s needs. This is a new start concept funded through internal NISE S&T funds to explore advanced


    The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SSC) Pacific has at its core mission to conduct research, development, test, evaluation, operation, sustainment, maintenance, and implementation of technologies and capabilities that build upon and improve the U.S. warfighters missions and objectives. This core mission has also been extended in support of U.S. Government organizations in their effort to protect and defend our Nation through the development of capabilities in the areas of Command/Control, Communications, Computer and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR). A Science and Technology (S&T) effort utilizing internal Naval Innovate Science and Engineering (NISE) funds to create rapid prototyping capabilities which decreases the time to deliver S&T products from the laboratories into the hands of the warfighter. Our internally funded effort focuses on the rapid prototyping of design-to-implementation of advanced user interfaces. S&T efforts are now underway to explore means to achieve rapid prototyping capabilities in user interfaces.


    • The contractor shall develop new functionality as well as resolve existing software "bugs"/limitations of the current system which is based on React technologies developed by Facebook and widely used in many new The emphasis shall be placed upon building new functionality due to the new start; however, bug and other limitations shall be addressed as determined during development.

    (3) Undergraduate Student 3: Must have course work in the discipline requested on the task order Statement of Work. The student must be at the Senior level and have experience in 100% of the task requirements and be able to accomplish 90% of the work independently.

    Majoring in Computer Science

    Additional Qualifications desired: Skills/Knowledge:

    • Web and native application development/technologies Data structures
    • Object oriented design
    • Experience in JavaScript and web/application development technologies
    • Experience using simple IDE environments such as Visual Studio Code, WebStorm or similar IDE
    • Knowledge and willingness to learn how to write code for the React API and related user interface technologies
    • Ability to write and verbally express design and development efforts
    • Skills using Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
    • User interface development skills
    • Web-based development and programming in HTML and JavaScript
    • Configuration, installation, and use of software on computing systems
    • Experience using databases

    This is a student position and is limited to working 20 hours per week
