    The Department of Administration and Postsecondary Education (ARPE) includes three academic degrees: Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in Postsecondary Education Leadership, the Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling and the Doctorate in Education with a concentration in Community College/Postsecondary Education Leadership. The Department is located on Campus and the Interwork Institute is co-located in Mission Valley while the Institute's Exceptional Family Resource Center is located at Sky Park. 


    The ARPE/Interwork Institute faculty and staff serve a large geographic area as well as diverse ethnic populations. This includes California, Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam CNMI, Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Republic of Palau, other US states and selected international partnerships. There are more than 60 employees that staff and administer the grants and contracts under the ARPE?/Interwork Institute.


    Under general direction of the Director for the Center for Distance Learning (CDL) for the Interwork Institute, the person in this position is responsible to support II-CDL’s distance learning programs and training projects.


    Technology Support Duties 95%

    • Install and update computers
    • Troubleshoot issues on hardware and software
    • Provide assistance to the IT manager on network or technology equipment
    • Provide technical support for webinars and distance courses
    • Generate, manage, and support online journal modules
    • Loggin and keeping records of user requests and follow-ups
    • Create and update help documents
    • Stay up to date on emerging and standard technologies

    Other Duties and Responsibilites 5%


    Knowledge and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of procedures and practices related to providing support services
    • Knowledge of procedures and practices related to ordering, issue and inventory
    • Knowledge of website acccessibility and assitive technology
    • Ability to learn quickly the names, uses, and care of common types of materials, supplies, and equipment used in the instructional program; ability to inspect materials, supplies, and equipment to determine their suitability for various uses
    • Ability to read and write at a level suitable for performance on the job

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Equivalent to six months of experience performing support services for an instructional program and involving such as preparing, producing, dispensing or storing materials, supplies, and equipment or
    • Equivalent to one year of experience in ordering, purchasing, accounting or in office work related to technical materials, supplies or equipment or in an office which provided similar services to a technical function or unit or
    • Equivalent to two years of relevant college coursework

    Preferred Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related fields or similar certified coursework in applicable fields of study
    • 1-2 years of experience or training in technical support
    • Marketing experience
    • Work experience in a non-profit and/or academic environment
    • Experience with FileMaker and or other types of database a plus
    • Basic understanding on HTML or web editors
    • Familiar with social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Google a plus
