  • Overview

    Under the supervision of the BHETA Assistant Program Manager, the Cultural Competence Academy (CCA) Training and Curriculum Coordinator will develop, maintain and coordinate behavioral health cultural competence information training and materials throughout the County Behavioral Health community; and to perform related work as required. Liaison and coordinate with community contacts. Attend appropriate stakeholder committees and meetings.  Manage all aspects of the CCA including developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating the CCA training program. Identify, recruit, and contract with curriculum developers, subject matter experts and trainers. Develop, facilitate and maintain a Curriculum Committee. Outreach as needed to recruit trainees and develop and maintain a CCA education schedule, educational and evaluation materials and supplies, schedule meetings, and complete meeting minutes. Liaison and coordinate with COR, Mental Health Administration, the CCRT Education and Implementation Subcommittee, QI, CCRT and relevant community and consumer groups. Attend appropriate cross-cultural and Behavioral Health meetings and committees and perform other related work as required.

    Responsibilities

    • Recruitment of subject matter experts, curricula developers and trainers
    • Obtain curriculum materials from trainers
    • Oversight and review of curriculum and curriculum updates
    • Training delivery as appropriate
    • Revise training program materials as needed and keep abreast of county and statewide updates and best practices
    • Providing oversight for training coverage, purchasing for trainings and training sites
    • Scheduling training
    • Contracting with trainers
    • Monitoring enrollment in classes
    • Tracking deliverables
    • Evaluate trainers; provide feedback as appropriate; identify trainer development opportunities, etc.
    • Assisting in development of needs assessment processes
    • Marketing and advertising training
    • Assuring all trainer bios and contracts are up to date
    • Liaising with County, Probation & Courts, and contract stakeholders
    • Manage Continuing Education (CE) credits for training
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field related to the program/project OR additional experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis

    • Four years of progressively responsible experience, two of which would be in technical or administrative assignments

     

    Preferred experience:

    • Master’s degree in Instructional design or the equivalent in experience

    • Three years of previous experience working with trainers and curricula oversight in a behavioral health area and five years of experience planning and coordinating logistics for classroom trainings

    • Previous experience supervising employees
