    This is an academic appointment intended to cover student employees who are currently enrolled at San Diego State University.  This position is a half-time appointment, paid hourly for hours worked not to exceed 20-hours per week.




    • The Marketing Intern is responsible for but not limited to:




      • Execute the marketing plan
      • Create promotional materials and distribute
      • Manage social media
      • Make classroom and club presentations
      • Manage club relationships
      • Manage key relationships with faculty
      • Manage the website
      • Manage application process
      • Support planning and execution of key events and programing (catering, room and room set up, invite, etc)
      • Manage support for orientation efforts




      • Track all expenses related to their responsibilities
      • Administrative support on expense submission, paperwork preparation, scanning and budget management
      • Front desk scheduling and training
      • Schedule office hour providers, guest speaking engagements and other visitors
      • Work with students to communicate expectations for events/programming and coordinate sign ups
      • Management of calendars
      • Manage the requests access
      • Manage Saleforce
      • Manage weekly team communication



    Students must be currently enrolled as a student at SDSU. Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least 6 units and be in good academic standing; Graduate students must be enrolled in at least 5 graduate weighted units and be in good academic standing. 


    Knowledge & Abilities Required:

    • Knowledge and abilities required vary based on the particular area, speciality, expertise and the skills needed to achieve objectives

    Minimum Education:

    • Education is based on the particular knowledge, ability or expertise needed

    Minimum Experience:

    • Experience focusing on the particular area or speciality for which the service is required

    Preferred Qualifications

    • good communication skills ( verbal, written)
    • presentation skills - ability to present to small to large group
    • organized 
    • self starter 
    • motivated
    • interested in entrepreneurship 
    • Experience with the use of technology in the Windows environment and web development desired
    • Masters student but undergrad may apply


    A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with SDSU Research Foundation
