  • Overview

    Work under immediate supervision of the CRA Program Coordinator to, partner with San Bernardino County, to provide development and implementation of a yearlong learning experience focused on building skills at all levels of the workforce to identify and manage bias and practice cultural humility. These services are provided by the Public Child Welfare Training Academy (“PCWTA”). This position works closely with the, Assistant Training Coordinator, County Consultant and coaching team to provide fluid services to the county.  This position works full time from a home office and requires travel to county offices during the work day.

     

    This position is based in San Bernardino County.

     

    Responsibilities

    The following percentages reflect the estimated proportion of time to be dedicated to each duty. Please note: some duties may include working with and/or exposure to sensitive/traumatic topics or material dealing with child abuse, elder abuse and/or issues and scenarios related to mental health or substance abuse.

     

    Under immediate supervision of the CRA Program Coordinator the CRA Consultant has primary responsibility for:

     

    CRA Program Coordination (75%)

    • Under the immediate supervision of the CRA Program Coordinator, support all aspects of the CRA including assisting with the development, implementation, and monitoring of the CRA training program in San Bernardino county.
    • Work in partnership with Leadership from Children and Family Services and relevant community and key stakeholder groups.
    • Participate in cross-cultural and Children and Family Services meetings and committees with the CRA Program Coordinator.
    • Maintain current understanding of new state initiatives and child welfare research in order to provide consultation and coaching on the initiatives.
    • Remain current on regional issues: (review documents/reports, SIP, new county initiatives, policies, procedures; represent/remind regarding EBP, F&E issues, etc.)
    • Communicate with subject matter experts, curriculum developers and trainers.
    • Participate in meetings with stakeholders who assist with curriculum development and review.
    • Assist with logistics, preparations and follow-ups for meetings used to support curriculum review.
    • Promote outreach initiatives as needed to recruit trainees and develop and maintain a CRA education schedule.
    • Provide support to the CRA Program Coordinator during delivery of training and coaching to support implementation of CRA.
    • Collaborate and correspondence with trainers.
    • Provide feedback to trainers regarding training delivery.
    • Support the development and completion of practicum projects.
    • Assist CRA Program Coordinator with report writing to support sharing feedback, information and evaluation related to training.

     

    Practice Consultation (15%)

    • Provide support to the CRA Program Coordinator during individual and group field-based training (coaching) for CRA participants to support skill-based practice and completion of practicum projects.
    • Participate in group supervision and development opportunities related to coaching and facilitation.

     

    Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or management (10%)

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM EDUCATION

    • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in appropriate field related to program/project, OR
    • Additional experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

    • Two years of progressively responsible experience in technical or administrative assignments.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

     

    • Experience in cultural studeis, training and/or treatment
    • Experience working with social service programs

    A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with SDSU Research Foundation
