    Work independently, and in partnership with San Bernardino county, to provide development and implementation of a year long learning experience focused on building skills at all levels of the workforce to identify and manage bias and practice cultural humility. These services are provided by the Public Child Welfare Training Academy (“PCWTA”). This position works closely with the Program Coordinator, county consultant and coaching team to provide fluid services to the county.  This position works full time from a home office and requires travel to county offices during the work day.



    This is a 1 FTE position.  The following percentages reflect the estimated proportion of time to be dedicated to each duty. Please note: some duties may include working with and/or exposure to sensitive/traumatic topics or material dealing with child abuse, elder abuse and/or issues and scenarios related to mental health or substance abuse.


    Under the general direction of the Cultural Responsiveness Academy (CRA) Program Coordinator, the CRA Consultant has primary responsibility for:


    Cultural Respnsiveness Academy (CRA) Program Coordination (70%)

    • Under the supervision of the CRA Program Coordinator, manage all aspects of the CRA including developing, implementing, and monitoring the CRA training program in San Bernardino county.
    • Liaiseon with Leadership from Children and Family Services and relevant community and key stakeholder groups.
    • Participate and/or facilitate, all appropriate cross-cultural and Children and Family Services meetings and committees and perform other related work as required.
    • Maintaining current understanding of new state initiatives and child welfare research in order to provide consultation and coaching on the initiatives.
    • Anticipating the impact to the region and planning for the integration of new state initiatives and regulations.
    • Remaining current on regional issues: (review documents/reports, SIP, new county initiatives, policies, procedures; represent/remind regarding EBP, F&E issues, etc.)
    • Recruitment of subject matter experts, curriculum developers and trainers.
    • Develop, facilitate and maintain a team of individuals who will shape curriculum review.
    • Logistics, preparations and follow-up for meetings used to support curriculum review.
    • Outreach as needed to recruit trainees and develop and maintain a CRA education schedule.
    • Deliver training and coaching to support implementation of CRA.
    • Coordinate training and evaluation materials and supplies.
    • Scheduling and logistics for training sessions.
    • Correspondence with trainers.
    • Evaluate trainers; provide feedback as appropriate; identify trainer development opportunities.
    • Support the development and completion of practicum projects.
    • Report writing to support sharing feedback, information and evaluation related to training.
    • Assuring all county needs are explored and met as appropriate to the scope of the contract.
    • Providing monthly and quarterly reports to the county regarding progress of the CRA.

    Practice Consultation (20%)

    • Provide both individual and group field-based training (coaching) directly to CRA participants to support skill-based practice and completion of practicum projects.
    • Participate in group supervision and development opportunities related to coaching and facilitation.
    • Report writing to support sharing feedback, information and evaluation related to coaching.


    Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or management (10%)




    • Equivalent to a master’s degree in appropriate field related to program/project.
    • Six years of experience, two years of which were in a position with high level of responsibility and requiring specialized skills.


    Preferred Experience:

    ● Experience in cultural studies, training and/or treatment.
    ● Experience with San Bernardino County Children and Family Services.
    ● Resides in San Bernardino County
    ● Masters Degree in Training, Social Work, Psychology or related field.
