The Sponsored Research Development (SRD) and Sponsored Research Contracting and Compliance (SRCC) departments supports the research mission of the University in the areas of grant development and administration, including: developing and submitting proposals; negotiating grant and contract awards and subawards; and other research administration services.
Under the immediate supervision of the SRD Coordinator, the SRD/SRCC Technician is responsible for providing administrative support for these two departments. Typical duties include providing clerical support, assisting with grant and contract data entry, running reports, and other administrative activities.
The SRD/SRCC Technician is responsible for but not limited to:
Sponsored Research Development Support- 40%
Works closely with the SRD staff in administrative tasks such as: scanning of documents to Nolijweb files and other file set-up, completing electronic routing forms, initiating competing and non-competing renewals in InfoEd system, data entry updates to Banner records related to proposal actions, preparing hard-copy proposals by photocopying, binding, addressing FedEx boxes, preparing CDs, etc., preparing new sponsor and PI organization/code requests, assisting in financial disclosure requests to key personnel on proposals, system testing,running reports ,electronic requests for new users or editing user accounts in NIH/NSF, other related administrative tasks.
Sponsored Research Contracting and Compliance Support – 40%
Works closely with SRCC staff in administrative tasks such as printing of documents, facilitating return of documents to sponsors, running reports, performing status checks on partially-executed agreements, assisting staff with compliance checks (IRB, BUA, IACUC, etc.), comparing documents to identify inconsistent terms and conditions, performing internet research and printing of contract clauses, updates to Banner related to award actions, scanning of documents to Nolijweb files and other related tasks.
Reception and Back-Up Support -5%
Act as point of contact for SRD and SRCC departments. Answering phones, greeting visitors, and general receptionist duties. Provides back-up to SRA technicians on SRA tasks when needed. May need to walk on-campus to pick up and deliver materials.
Other Duties and Responsibilities as Assigned- 5%
Assist SRS division personnel with a wide variety of special projects and other duties as requested.
• Two years of administrative support experience
• Associate's degree or higher
• Previous experience working in a research or academic environment
