  • Overview

    This Statement of Work covers the need for the services of a college student(s) to provide technical and/or analytical support in the field of Computer Science and Information Systems for the SSC Pacific Secure Wide Area Network (SWAN) Network Operations Center (NOC). The purpose of this task is to provide technical programming support and web design support for SWAN.

     

    The SWAN NOC is the responsible for maintaining the Secure Wide Area Network in support of the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR) Pacific Research, Development, Testing and Evaluation (RDTE) environment. This includes, maintaining all routers and switches, providing essential services such as Active Directory, email, Domain Name System (DNS), patching servers, firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems/Intrusion Prevention Sensor (IDS/IPS), and anti-virus. SWAN is also charged with upholding all security requirements mandated by the DoD using various Blue team and vulnerability scanning tools.

    Responsibilities

    Programming support for a MicroSoft Structured Query Language (MSSQL) Database, including Transact-Structured Query Language (TSQL), Stored Procedures, Triggers, and Common Language Runtime (CLR) procedures, to automate input and output of 

    • Scripting that imports/exports information from a database or file to Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and Active Directory.
    • Provisioning and distribution ofIPv4 IP's and subnets.
    • Basic desktop Support

    Support and provide basic troubleshooting support for problems relating to Windows 7, IO.

    Maintain a Windows 7, 10 desktop by installing the most up-to-date patches and configure the system by modifying the system registry.

     Creating and running database queries, and tables in Microsoft Office, Excel, Access, and MSSQL Management

     

    Website administration:

    • Update and change a website at the code (html, c#, JavaScript)
    • Create web design using html, asp.net and

    Qualifications

     Minimum Qualifications:

     

    Student 1: Grad Level 1: Computer Science or Information Systems major (working on

    Masters).

     

     Required Course Work:

    • Intermediate Computer Programming (or equivalent).
    • Programming Languages (or equivalent within a class).
    • Data Structures (or equivalent).
    • Client-Server Progranuning (or equivalent).
    • Computer Networks and Distributed Systems (or equivalent).

     

    Additional Qualifications desired:

     

    Knowledge of:

    • LDAP, Powershell, html, php
    • fmporting/exporting .CSV files into an MSSQL
    • Scripting that imports/exports infonnation from a database or file to LDAP and Active
    • Basic subnetting

    Experience with:

    • UNIX based operating
    • Secure Shell (SSH).
    • Good phone support, and verbal communication
    • Ability to describe technical concepts and problems to users and system administrators highly desired,
    • Web design (J1tml, php)
    • Creating and running database query's, and tables.
    • Updating and changing a website at the code (html, c#, JavaScript)

     

    This position will require the employee to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

    Due to the regulations established by the Department of Defense, only US Citizens may qualify
    This is a student position and is limited to working 20 hours per week
