This Statement of Work covers the need for the services of a college student to provide technical and analytical support in the fields of Physics and Mathematics for the TrueView project. The purpose of this project is to generate photorealistic synthetic imagery for naval situations and environments.


Background: TrueView, is a software product being developed for the US Navy.  It is a hyperspectral 3D maritime scene simulator and physics-based renderer, specifically designed and focused for the needs of the Navy.


  •  Reviewing, analyzing and documenting specific operational procedures, models, and methods supporting METOC (METeorological and OCeanographic) data collection and METOC data analysis.
  • Designing, exercising and testing models utilizing simulation, numerical and statistical analyses techniques to support TrueView features and functionality.
  •  Performing data conversion and coding, and data analysis and reduction.
  •  Performing literature searches and reviews; compiling and cataloging background material; and preparing summaries and bibliographies for TrueView research.



Minimum Qualifications:


Undergraduate Level 2: Majoring in any of the following disciplines Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (Junior or Senior).


Required Course Work:


Linear Algebra, Multivariable Calculus, Mechanics, Waves, Electro-Magnetism, Computer Programing, and Statistics. Must have experience in atmospheric propagation, meteorological data analysis, and meteorological data collection instruments.


Additional Qualifications desired:  


Experience in Python computer language.


Recommended Course Work:


Numerical methods for physics/science/engineering, computational modeling, and scientific visualization.



This is a student position and is limited to working 20 hours per week
