The country of Georgia has a critical shortage of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) professionals, educated to current international standards, graduating from their institutions of higher education. SDSU is approaching this project in partnership with Ilia State University, Tbilisi State University, and Georgian Technical University – the three premier public universities in Georgia – to provide Bachelor’s degrees in the country of Georgia. Using the facilities of these three universities, SDSU-Georgia will focus on STEM education to train an advanced workforce to meet the growing needs of Georgia. 


Under the general supervision of the SDSU-Georgia Dean, the Director of International Recruitment will have responsibility for managing the recruitment of international students, which includes the development of an appropriate recruitment strategy for these students. The international recruitment strategy must be developed and refined in collaboration with project sponsors, Georgian partner universities, and SDSU practices, and in coordination with the national recruitment strategy for Georgian students developed by the Vice Dean. The Director of International Recruitment shall identify and monitor sources of data and information (educational, economic, marketing and social) relevant to the target regions and countries. This position will require international travel.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines



  • 5 or more year of progressively responsible experience in recruiting students into a university or higher education setting or directly related experience of acceptable level and quality
  • Experience working in a cross-cultural environment
  • Must be able to relocate and work in Tbilisi, Georgia
  • Must be able to travel within the Georgian region and to target countries
  • Theoretical knowledge of program planning, implementation, coordination and evaluation skills


  •  A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field that provides the required knowledge and abilities to successfully execute all the duties and responsibilities of the position. A Master’s degree is preferred
