This position has been budgeted for $28.39 per hour and is non-negotiable.

The Healthy Early Years (HEY) clinic is a nonprofit training facility that offers low-cost family, couples, and child therapy. HEY is a counselor training facility operated by the Center for Excellence in Early Development (CEED) and San Diego State University, Department of Child and Family Development.

Provide onsite mental health services to students from a cluster of schools within theSan Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) who may not otherwise have access to these supports. Consultant shall focus on providing brief therapy models with both students and families. These services should provide a strength-based focus on resilience and encompass a range of mental health services as required by the needs of the student population. Services may include mental health assessments and evaluation, individual/group/family therapy, treatment plan development, collateral services, and case management. Clients needing prolonged interventions should be referred to community or clinic-based providers.

Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (Direct Services) 70%

• Provide direct ECMHC services to early childhood educators, childcare providers, and families.
• Conduct classroom and child observations, consultation sessions, and collaborative problem-solving.
• Support social–emotional development, behavior regulation, and relational health in early childhood settings.
• Develop consultation plans and recommendations grounded in developmentally appropriate, evidence-informed practices.
• Provide coaching and capacity-building to early childhood staff and caregivers.
• Maintain a caseload consistent with program needs and clinician availability.
• Reflective Practice and Professional Development
• Participate in reflective supervision or reflective consultation groups to support professional growth, ethical practice, and sustainability.
• Engage in ongoing professional development related to early childhood mental health, consultation,and clinical practice.

School Based Services 20%

• Provide onsite school-based mental health services to students within SDUSD.
• Work with school administration/designee to obtain referrals.
• Schedule and plan appointments/ days on school sites according to school schedule and referrals received
• Review referral and caseload information quarterly and communicate this information with
• school administration.
• Collaborate with the District to prioritize referrals based upon identified acuity and individualized
• student needs.
•  Deliver services using brief therapy models when appropriate and will refer students and families to community and clinic-based providers for additional therapeutic interventions.
•  Use clinical judgement to determine modality, frequency, and duration of treatment.
• Document mental health services and maintain treatment records.
