KPBS serves the greater San Diego community with informative, cultural, entertaining and educational television, radio, and digital programming. KPBS TV/FM is the public television and radio station for San Diego. Licensed to San Diego State University, KPBS supports and furthers the university’s educational and community service mission by informing, enlightening and empowering its audience. It does so not only by presenting national and locally produced programming of value to its San Diego audience, but also by producing programming about San Diego and its people for distribution nationwide.
Under the supervision of the Investigations/Digital Fellowship Editor, the Digital Fellowship Project Coordinator is responsible for managing various projects for the KPBS Digital Training Fellowship Program, which trains KPBS journalists on developing in-depth, digitally native content and engagement efforts that reach new and diverse audiences. These initiatives fit within KPBS’ overall commitment to provide quality local in-depth news and news analysis on all of its platforms (TV, Radio, Digital and Social) that impact San Diego & Imperial Counties and its residents.
The Digital Fellowship Project Coordinator coordinates the training, schedule, outside consultants and supporting resources for all fellows and fellowship projects. This includes collaboration with social media, communications and community engagement teams to create events and engagement that will grow and reach new audiences.
Working in collaboration with the Investigations/Digital Training Editor, this position helps to build a donor base dedicated to supporting enterprise/investigative/digital journalism by bringing new and diverse audiences to KPBS.
