Overview

This position is budgeted for $18.90 per hour and is non-negotiable. 

 

This Statement of Work is to provide technical and analytical support in the fields of Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineer or Computer Engineering. It covers the need for a student services contractor to develop software and computer-based solutions for the test and evaluation of emerging RF systems. Work would include the modification of existing source code the ability to compile and operate the applications under development. Basic RF design and use of Software Defined Radios with Linux operating systems. The student contractor should be familiar with basic RF and E&M principles. In addition, can identify basic signal types and troubleshoot RF systems.

 

The Littoral ElectroMagnetic Range serves as a test and evaluation asset providing the ability to troubleshoot and evaluate RF systems in a semi-lab environment.

Responsibilities

The student contractor shall provide analytical and technical support in the following areas, as specified under individual task orders, to the work sponsor:


Software Engineering, Programming:

 

  • Assist with design, development, and sustainment of source code associated with open source applications used in RF systems.
  • Develop and deploy applications and scripts associated with RF systems under test.
  • Assist assembly and troubleshooting oftest systems.
  • Assist with interpretation of RF signals and conduct quality analysis.

Qualifications

Undergraduate Student 3: Must have course work in the discipline requested on the task order Statement of Work. The student must be at the Senior level and have experience in 100% of the task requirements and be able to accomplish 90% of the work independently.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Computer Science and/or Computer Engineering major preferred; relevant majors such as Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or Electrical Engineer maybe suitable given relevant coursework and/or work experience.

  • Calculus 1,2 & 3
  • Programming courses
  • Physics

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Signal analysis and interpretation
  • Experience with Software Defined Radios
  • Experience with RF systems
  • Python, Java, C#,C++, JavaScript or software programming experience.
  • Experience with GIT and version control.
  • Experience in RF signals analysis
  • Ability to read and implement technical documents or test standards.
  • Experience with RF systems and troubleshooting.
  • Flexible with learning new programming languages based on project's needs.
  • Knowledge in Docker/containers.
  • Experience in deploying software.
  • Independent/self-starter who can operate under minimal oversight.

 

Additional Applicant Information

  • This position will require the employee to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • Due to the regulations established by the Department of Defense, only US Citizens may qualify
  • This is a student position and is limited to working 20 hours per week
