Overview

  • The wage for this position is $35.00 -$40.00 per hour, 8 hours per week.
  • This position requires the clearance to work out of Folsom State Prison. 

 

The PAC Teaching Artist, Sacramento, is responsible for the implementation of the Connecting Through Arts program at Folsom State Prison, and mentoring teaching assistants and peer facilitators, cultivating creative community within the local team and participants. Teaching Artists report to the Regional Lead and Executive Director and work closely with teaching and administrative staff.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks 

  • Mentor and support PAC teaching assistants and peer facilitators
  • Communicate with Sacramento Regional Lead and Executive Director
  • Participate in monthly teacher meetings with PAC team and monthly meeting with Regional Lead
  • Support events and exhibitions planned by the Regional Lead
  • Collaborate with the teaching team, including peer facilitators, to ensure that classes have the appropriate supplies, delivered in a timely manner, and organized on site. 
  • Potential to also conduct site visits to area facilities where PAC has programming
  • Facilitate the development of a new theater production with the class of participants in the prison, including support with developing a script, program/playbill.
