Overview

  • The hourly wage for this position is $21.00 - $25.00 per hour, 10-15 hours per week.

PAC Graduate Research Assistant

 

Prison Arts Collective

 

Prison Arts Collective expands access to the transformative power of the arts by providing programming in prisons and for communities impacted by incarceration. PAC has an active State IRB approval and research project to understand and articulate the impact of its programming. More specifically, the research team is investigating: What is the impact of the arts on the incarcerated population? And on the prison environment? 

 

 

Responsibilities

Position Description: 

 

  • Conduct literature reviews
  • Analyze and summarize site reviews with oversight from research team
  • Incorporate new findings into ongoing white paper projects
  • Data entry 
  • Maintain accurate records, safeguarding the confidentiality of participants, as necessary
  • Summarize and code participant responses
  • Provide ready access to all data for the research team 
  • Manage and respond to project related email
  • Meet weekly with research supervisors to give an update on assignments 
  • Support with research meetings notes and organization
  • Attend bi-weekly research team meetings
  • Support in the summarization of project results
  • Total compliance with all IRB protocols and security of PAC data 

 

Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the research team. Quarterly work requirements and schedules must be discussed with the team to ensure that the work priorities can be accomplished in the time allotted. Concerns about any additional responsibilities should be discussed first with the supervisor and then PAC Program Director, Annie Buckley.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Abilities: 

 

  • Academic and/or work experience related to the field of research
  • Experience with Excel, SPSS 
  • Experience with Google Drive
  • Satisfactory academic progress
  • Completion of CITI Training 

 

 

Required Minimum Education

  • Equivalent to completion of a bachelor's degree and registration in an SDSU graduate degree program
