The salary range for this position is $5,833.33 - $6,666.67 per month ($70,000 - $80,000 per year) depending upon qualifications and is non-negotiable.
This position is required to work the morning shift starting around 7:00AM (PST).
KPBS serves the greater San Diego community with informative, cultural, entertaining and educational television, radio, and web programming. KPBS TV/FM is the public television and radio station for San Diego. Licensed to San Diego State University, KPBS supports and furthers the university’s educational and community service mission by informing, enlightening and empowering its audience. It does so not only by presenting national and locally produced programming of value to its San Diego audience, but also by producing programming about San Diego and its people for distribution nationwide.
Under the supervision of the Senior Producer for Audio News, the Supervising Audio Producer leads KPBS's morning, midday and afternoon newscast team, and collaborates with the Midday Edition team, the San Diego News Now podcast team and other units in the newsroom and at KPBS. Responsibilities include bringing creative ideas and fresh approaches to newscasts, leveraging the immediacy of broadcast news all while emphasizing writing for the ear through a conversational and welcoming delivery.
This position will work the morning shift and supervise the Morning Edition and All Things Considered anchors and two student assistants, and works closely with other News department managers, producers, editors, anchors, hosts, production and engineering staff to plan, create, critique, innovate and improve newscasts. This position is also expected to help foster an inclusive, equitable and welcoming environment within the organization.
