Overview

Under the direction of the Executive Director of the Center for Equity and Postsecondary Attainment, the Director of College Enrollment oversees all College Avenue Compact’s dynamic programs and staff. These programs, funded by Price Philanthropies are strategically designed to increase the number of students who graduate from Hoover High School prepared to matriculate and graduate from, SDSU or other four-year colleges and universities.

 

The Director of College Enrollment works in close collaboration with San Diego Unified School District administration, school-level counselors and administration to implement innovative programs that are aligned with the program’s vision. The Director of College Enrollment is responsible for guiding work related to grade level curriculum planning, resource contracting, staffing, staff development, budget, grants, and college enrollment program evaluation.

Responsibilities

Program Management and Development:

Oversee all aspects of CAC programming to maximize the efforts of Hoover-cluster students to enroll and succeed in post-secondary education.

 

Outreach and Communication: 

Build the capacity of the City Heights CAC Family Engagement program and work with parents to support their children in pursuing educational services that will lead to post-secondary enrollment and success. Engage with parents and address their concerns. Work with San Diego Unified School District staff to build a college-going culture on the Hoover-cluster campuses and integrate CAC into school operations.

 

Research and Evaluation:

• Ensure ongoing progress toward the attainment of CAC goals and objectives.
• Reduce college Undermatching
• Increase college preparation and exposure to postsecondary options
• Increase in CAC Scholar Recruitment/Retention and Family Engagement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and relevant work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
  • 8 years of progressively responsible experience in an office or administrative environment

Previous Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Education, School Counseling, Public Policy Administration or equivalent training and relevant work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices or programs
    Bilingual Spanish/English
  • Previous college advising or university admissions experience to include system level management
  • Previous management experience motivating, exciting and educating both internal and external partners.
  • Experience synthesizing and leveraging large data sets through Excel, databases, and other means
